One of the self-professed History Keepers of Deltora, or at least one of them, I am an administrator of the Deltora Quest Wiki. Something about myself.... my dream is to become an author, so I try to train myself in the writing craft, however I don't think I'm very good at it. Sometimes when I edit articles, I tend to overcompensate and write too many details, and then I have to spend hours upon hours cutting them down. But I'm learning sentence structure and syntax from that.
How I discovered Deltora Quest and Emily Rodda
I got my start with Emily Rodda's Deltora Quest books when I was really young, back in 2004 when they first started coming out in Danish. I got a few of the books as a birthday gift from my maternal grandmother. My mother would read them to me every night. Soon we were on series 2 as well! I loved how exciting they were, and how it felt like you were on the adventure with Lief, Barda and Jasmine (and FIlli and Kree). The tension was always high, because everywhere a spy could be lurking. The monsters were scary and weird. And the overall feeling of the books were heavy with atmosphere. The books even taught you how to use your wits. I loved them, and since they have become my favourite books of all time, and Rodda my favourite author. When we came to the third book of the second series, The Shadowlands, I was able to read it myself, and so the first book I ever read on my own was a Deltora Quest book. After that I just began collecting all the books that had never come out in Denmark, either translated or not, and I now have every book ever published I believe. Even the Quiz Book.
Anyway, feel free to send me a message. I'll eventually read nad reply to every one of them. If it takes some time for me to do it, just remember that you have not been forgotten. I will come around and respond in time.
