The cart of Steven the peddler and his brother Nevets is a horse-drawn cart and the home of the siblings. They use it to travel around all of Deltora, with Steven selling their wares.[1]

History[]

The Maze of the Beast[]

Lief, Barda, and Dain encountered Steven driving his cart at Where Waters Meet, along the Broad River path. They each bought an item, Dain buying a small cooking pot, Lief two packets of chewing toffee, and Barda a wide cloth belt. At some point, Jasmine encountered Steven as well, obtaining her disguise from him.[1]

Shadowgate[]

Design[]

Steven's cart is a shambling caravan pulled along by a fat old horse. At the front is a driver's seat, which has a compartment underneath that contains Queen Bee Honey. On the back there are bolted doors that reveal the inside, which is fitted as a tiny shop, crammed with items such as clothes and household needs. There are bells on the horse's reins, although they are taken off during Return to Del.[1][2]

In the anime, Steven's cart has a red sloped roof, blue walls, and purple curtains covering the sides. The driver's seat is a deep purple. A lever on the side causes the roof and curtains to raise, with shelves folding out of the sides and back of the cart.
