The title of Piper was originally given to the finest Pirran Pipe player in Pirra. They played the Pipe morning, noon and evening to ensure all evil was kept out of Pirra, for the notes of the Pipe were so beautiful that no evil could exist within hearing it. The Piper was also the chief of Pirrans.

Later, after the Pirrans were forced to flee Pirra and split into three separate tribes, the leader of the tribes that were elected were referred to as Piper.[1]

Physical appearance[]

Traditionally Pipers wear a tall, stiff head-dress, often set with ornaments such as stones.[1][2][3]
