Despite being a veteran of the War of the Plains, Morgan showed himself to be kind and gentle man. He loved his younger brother Joel deeply and refused to cast him from his home until he was old enough to care for himself. Unlike Lann and many other people of Rin, who saw Joel's traits only as weakness, Morgan defended his brother from all this and saw the gentle touch and way with animals that his brother had to be his greatest strengths. He was devastated by Joel's death and though he did not blame Lann, it was this event that caused his feeling for his once-love to change. Many of Morgan's traits were obviously passed on to his son, Sefton, who shared his father's love for family, as well as his grandson Rowan.
