The Moon is a celestial object in the skies of the world. It reflects the light from the sun and thus seemingly glows, and this light may be bright enough to illuminate the ground, though not as brightly as the sun.

Phases[]

The lunar phase or moon phase is the apparent shape of the Moon's directly sunlit portion as viewed from the earth, and is caused by the changing positions of the Moon, earth, and the Sun. As the Moon goes around the Earth, different parts of it are illuminated by the Sun as the earth, being-between the two in a sense, eclipses the mooj to varying degrees. The phases follow a specific pattern, where the four major phases are the new moon, the first quarter, the full moon and the last quarter; the four minor phases are waxing crescent, waxing gibbous, waning gibbous, and waning crescent. A full orbit and thus set of phases is completed on average in about 29.5 days, or about a full "month."

King Lief always held his meetings to hear his people at the end/beginning of the month, during the full moon, and thus called these meetings full moon meetings.[1]
