Mobbs was a man of Del who had served as a member of the Del city council a thousand years ago, while Rosalyn was alive. Her father, the trader Garth, had promised him her hand in marriage in exchange for a ship.[1]
Mobbs owned a fleet of ships, several businesses, and land, and served on the city council due to his wealth. He became besotted by Rosalyn's beauty, and agreed to deliver her father a gift of one of his best ships for a marriage to her. When she finally returned from a voyage to Dorne, Rosalyn appeared so strange and chilling, after her forced imbibing of a potion of forgetting by her father, that Mobbs called off the marriage, but still delivered the ship.[1]
