Oh, awesome! Yeah, sorry about me not getting back to you about getting Skype. Just haven't had time to set it up as of yet. I'll send you a message sometime this week when I'm free. I can't wait to see where this project goes!
Now, I have been a fan of Deltora for a long time (and still going strong btw) and I have a question (or a couple) for you. I do hope I receive a reply as I know you apparently have been inactive for sometime now.
First off, I have been watching your wonderful YouTube channel for a while now. I do love English subbed anime and love how you have subtitled some of the series. However, I know that the series has not been completed just yet. Reading some blogs and such, other translators won't continue the translation of the series and that honestly disappointed me. I do wish that the translation could be finished (perhaps in time for the upcoming surprises) so that others maybe able to watch the rest of the series and understand it. I personally am asking because I love the character Oacus (slight smile) and am disappointed that the series was cut to change his death. Honestly that is my personal motive but I am also asking on behalf of those who wish to watch the English Subbed version.
Cool. So obviously it says plain as day that Deltora Quest may become a movie according to Andrew Berkhut, Head of Publishing for Scholastic. That got me pretty excited when I first read this article and I also now that the article had some specks of truth attached as the 'Land of Dragons' book does exist (and after some hours of digging and internet shopping, I found a copy and ordered it) and contains some vital details of Deltora. I honestly just want your personal opinion on this new news (not really new really) of the franchise becoming a movie.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear a reply.
PS: If you wish to discuss this with me, you can find me on Twitter as I do not have an account on the Deltora Quest Wikia. Sorry for any trouble caused.
PPS: Thank you for your hard work on the translation of the series and I apologise for pestering you like this.
I was checking out your channel on YouTube,(which I frequently do!) and saw your Welcome to my Channel video. It's amazing. Your new website looks, really, really good! Wow. How's it going by the way? You've obviously put in so much effort and by the look of things so far, it's defiantly paying off. I'd also like to thank you for uploading and spending time translating the anime. It's helped me a lot with adding images from the anime as well as watching it, of course!
Thanks for the kind words, though, as you've probably noticed, I really haven't been active at all (blame school). For now, the subtitling project is indefinitely posponted - though that could change. I think it's worth pointing out, that all of the videos (apart from episodes 63, 64 and 65) currently uploaded on my YouTube channel were not subtitled by me; they are old videos most of which were subtitled around 6 years ago by a group. My plan was to put those on YouTube, then continue with my own subtitles from there. Episode 23 is basically 98% done and episodes 24 - 30 are also fairly far into completion as well. What's stopping them from releasing them is my unfortunate habit of perfectionism. I can't even watch episodes 63, 64 or 65 anymore without cringing at all the mistakes I made (at least that shows that I'm learning more and more Japanese as I progress, I supose ahah).
Another aspect that I've had to consider recently are the stricter copyright laws that are soon to be enacted. My intentions were always to simply release subtitles for the Japanese version, so maybe in the future I'll just release the subtitles file to avoid copyright altogether, meaning, that if someone would like to watch the Japanese version, they'd also have to buy the Japanese DVD.
Okay, so, I've been rambling on a bit too much so I'll just end it here - I'm glad I was/am helping with the images for the wiki, and because of that, I'm going to try and be more active here.
Thanks for making a new account! For everyone who doesn't know, I advertised the Wiki on DQAFansubs, looking for more editors. DQA runs the sight and is now going to help edit, he's happy that the wiki is going well!
