First appearance

The Golden Door (only appearance)

Kirwan was a Fellan man. He and his people had guarded a magic bag of powers for many years because of a promise made to their long dead friend Eldannen.

History[]

The Golden Door[]

Physical appearance[]

Kirwan was described as being tall. He had slanting eyebrows and long, flaming red hair that tumbled over his shoulders. His eyes were brilliant green. His skin and eyes could change colour to match his surroundings, however his true eye colour, like other Fellan, was brilliant green.

Personality[]

Abilities[]

Kirwan, like other Fellan, had magic. He had the power to tame beasts of the Fellan realm, change shape at will, move from place to place in a breath, speak to other Fellan through his mind and many other wonders that includes controlling the wind and presumably other elements of the Fell Zone forest.

Appearances[]

The Three Doors[]

Trivia[]

  • Kirwan is one of the only three named full-blood Fellan characters across the books in the "Roddaverse", the others being Edelle and Alenan.
  • The name "Kirwan" seems to follow a common trend on Dorne or at least among the Fellan of having personal names that end in an -n, usually either -an, -en or -in. This may be remnants of an old language or indications that there exists a living, spoken language on Dorne to this day, either among the Fellan or globally on the island. Most of the people of Dorne seem to speak the common tongue (English to the audience), however.
  • Kirwan may be derived from the name of the City of Townsville subburb of the same name in Queensland, Australia.
