History[]

Kay was born and raised on the island of Dorne where she came to study and work as a healer. Seven years before the events of the Rosalyn Trust competition, the destruction of the Staff of Tier and the ceremony that made Britta the Trader Rosalyn Apprentice, the Trader Rosalyn, a Deltoran woman named Mab, was in Dorne and had her finger poisoned. Kay was called to Mab to tend to the finger, and Mab, who had fallen out with every healer she had ever had before, hired Kay then. Kay took to Mab and she to Kay and ever since Kay have sailed with Mab. They became close friends and allies, and for all Mab's faults, Kay has always stood by her.[2]

Shadows of the Master []

Kay is the personal healer of Mab, who is frail and ailing. She opened the door to Zoolah when the other woman came with Britta to speak to Mab, but refused to allow Zoolah to disturb Mab for any reason and closed the door on her. Kay later told Britta that she would not have been so hasty to do that, had she realised what Zoolah would try to do next. Kay appeared when Zoolah was losing her mind and screaming at Britta, and orders Zoolah to calm herself. Sadly her warning came too late, as the shadows, sensing the threat to Britta, attacked Zoolah, killing her. Afterward, Kay saw to a stunned Britta, ensuring that she was rested, bathed and ready to sail with the other candidates at dawn on board the Star of Deltora.[1]
