Jasmine's daggers are a pair of daggers owned by Queen Jasmine of Deltora. One of them is deeply treasured by her due to it once belonging to her father. She kept and used it after her parents were taken from her by the Grey Guards, and wielded it as her primary weapon after she joined Lief and Barda in their quest to find the gems and restore them to the Belt of Deltora. The dagger that previously belonged to her father has a carved cross-shaped crystal set in its hilt.[1] [notes 1]

The Shifting Sands[]

In Shifting Sands, Jasmine temporarily lost her father's knife as it was taken by The Hive. Once it was taken by the insects of The Hive, an imprint of it was left in the Sands, along with the imprint of the companions' gold coins also taken by the swarm. Lief returned the dagger to her when he recovered it in the center, along with the Lapis Lazuli. Jasmine was deeply grateful that Lief had found her dagger again.[1]

Notes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 The description of the dagger in The Shifting Sands, Chapter 14: Terror, states that i thas a carved crystal in its hilt. In the same book and chapter, Kate Rowe's illustration of the imprint of Jasmine's dagger left in the Shifting Sands after the insect swarm of The Hive stole it shows a dagger specifically with a cross-shaped crystal set in the hilt, just below the blade, as well as a crossguard with a point on both sides that curve down and inwards, touching the underside of both of the crossguard's "arms", close to the ends of the arms. It also has a double-pointed "pommel" at the end of the hilt, opposite the blade, whose ends curve to the sides and upwards. The blade itself is shaped like a long, perfect triangle.
