Gold bell tree

A gold model of a bell tree with jade leaves and topaz bell fruit, made by an artist from Dorne.[1]

The bell tree,[2] sometimes called a bell fruit tree or bell-fruit tree,[1] is a fruit-bearing tree that grows on the island of Dorne, though predominantly in Weld. It is named after its yellow bell-shaped fruits.[2] The sorcerer Dann was very fond of the tree and took a branch from one for a magic staff.[3] Dann had also planted a bell tree himself in the public square of the Keep of Weld.[2] Throughout Rye's adventures during the three doors, he had a bell tree stick that he carried on his belt. It was not a good weapon, but it reminded him of home.[2][4][3]

The bell tree has a brown trunk and brown branches and green leaves. During spring, the tree sprouts and become an umbrella of the yellow bell blossoms. The blossoms then fall to form perfect golden circles on the ground and tiny green fruit begin to form. This fruit is referred to as "bell fruit." During autumn, the leaves of the tree colour and fall.[2][1]
