3-19 was possibly created after the Shadow Lord was banished from Deltora.[1] As the Lord of Shadows continued with it's plans to infect thousands of enslaved Deltorans with it's Carrier Worms, 3-19 was made the co-worker and apparent companion to one of the first successful victims: a Noradz woman named Tira. 3-19, however, was completely unaware of Tira's status as a 'converted' Deltoran, seemingly believing her to be a willing Shadow Lord servant rather than a brainwashed one, and evidently disliked Tira.
The Shadowlands[]
3-19 and Tira observed the growing of Grey Guards inside the Shadow Factory. Tira took many opportunities to harass him, and openly mocked that, because of the failures of his fellow Grade 3 Ols, the Shadow Lord intended for the Conversion Project to be their replacement. During the unveiling ceremony, 3-19 instructed the Grey Guards to leave the prisoner's wagon uncovered when they brought it into the Shadow Arena. They ignore him however, and later used the unveiling to show their capture of Lief, Barda and Jasmine.
Tira commanded 3-19 to begin the Conversion Project and administer the worms to the prisoners, but Lief managed to convince him otherwise, by reminding him that he would be releasing his replacement. 3-19 hesitated, and the Shadow Lord struck him down.[1]
Physical appearance[]
Like all Grade 3 Ols, 3-19 could take on any shape he wanted, be it living or non-living. His main form was the same as Prandine and Fallow.[1]
Personality[]
3-19 was very self-conscious, and constantly feared for his life due to the repeated failures of the Grade 3 Ols.[1]
Abilities[]
3-19, as a Grade 3 Ol, was capable of shapeshifting into any form he desired and retaining that form for as long as he wanted. Though mildly intelligent and observant, 3-19 was not clever enough to realise the impact of the Conversion Project on his kind until it was to late.[1]
